In March 2026, the Economic Justice Network collaborated with the SADC Parliamentary Forum during the Technical Working Group meeting of the Standing Committee on Trade, Industry, Finance and Investment (TIFI) in Johannesburg.

Bringing together policy experts, youth leaders, researchers, parliamentarians, and civil society actors, the gathering reflected a growing recognition that economic justice struggles must increasingly shape regional governance and legislative frameworks — not only public activism.

Participants stressed the importance of developing evidence-based policy briefs, strengthening parliamentary accountability, and advancing regional model laws aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and African Union Agenda 2063. Africa continues to export raw wealth while importing inequality — and EJN is working to change that.
